Atlanta's First Hotel Restaurant Week

Everyone has their culinary comfort zone—the handful of restaurants they patronize
based on geography, price and style of cuisine. There’s, the favorite Italian, the Mexican joint, the special occasion spot
and the meat-and-potatoes place they’ve been patronizing since they were old enough to chew.

That list is about to get a little longer thanks to Hotel Restaurant Week, a citywide event Saturday April 2 through Sunday,
April 9, 2011 in which hotel restaurant chefs are offering a three-course dinner for just $25. Participating restaurants
include Park 75 in the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta and other hotel restaurants from across Atlanta—Midtown, Downtown
and Buckhead.

Created by Robert Gerstenecker, executive chef of Park 75 restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta, Hotel Restaurant
Week says the campaign isn’t just about giving Atlantans an incentive to treat themselves to a night out, it’s an invitation
to start thinking differently about the restaurant options in the city.

“There are a lot of stereotypes about hotel dining,” Gerstenecker says. “Some people think we’re stuffy, that we play it
safe with the menu, that it somehow takes more effort to come here for dinner than to go to a freestanding restaurant.
They trust us for weddings and large functions, but they don’t consider us a local restaurant where they can have a great
meal any night of the week.”

Vice president, publisher and part owner of Hotel Food & Beverage magazine says, “We are 100 percent convinced that this Atlanta event is going to resonate across the country and be a phenomenon.”

Think of it as exploring a whole new world of restaurants without venturing outside the perimeter.

“I want this to be better than other restaurant weeks,” Gerstenecker says. “I want to bring people into my kitchen and give
them tours of the terrace garden so they’re really exposed to what we do here. I want them to feel part of this hotel
instead of it being a big building they never visit.”

Sponsors include the Georgia Restaurant Association, illy, Fiji, Atlanta Concierge Society, Atlanta magazine,
Hotel F & B magazine, OpenTable and M-Squared Public Relations.

CELEBRITIES REVEAL THEIR FAVORITE CHOCOLATE DESSERTS

The Celebrity Chocolate Buffet returns to Park 75

The acclaimed Chocolate Buffet at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta has returned by popular demand. And this year, it’s more decadent than ever!

For six weeks in February and March, Executive Chef Robert Gerstenecker of Park 75 Restaurant is inviting a local celebrity to join him in the kitchen on a Friday night. Each celebrity will share their favorite chocolate recipe for others to experience as part of the larger chocolate buffet, which includes 15 other chocolate desserts.

Whether it’s ‘Grandmother’s Double-Chocolate Brownies’ or “The Perfect Chocolate Kiss,” each celebrity host will not only contribute their favorite dessert, but spill their personal story behind the sweet treat.

“I look forward to this event every year,” said upcoming chocolate celebrity, Mychael Knight. Chocolate is like fashion—everyone has their favorite kind, and good chocolate never goes out of style.”

The 2010 line-up of chocolate celebrities includes: Mychael Knight, fashion designer and Season 3 finalist on Bravo’s Project Runway; Frank Ski, on-air personality and host of the top rated Frank & Wanda in the Morning Show and Chairman of the Frank Ski Kids Foundation; John McFall, the Artistic Director for The Atlanta Ballet Company; Xernona Clayton, President and CEO of the Trumpet Awards Foundation, Barking Hound Village owner and executive director of Fulton County Animal Services, David York, and Emily Giffin, New York Times bestselling author of Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Baby Proof and Love the One You’re With.

Year-after-year, Park 75’s all-you-can-eat Chocolate Buffet is the guilty pleasure destination for Atlanta locals and visitors alike. And this year, the chocolate creations will make you turn the other cheek at the grocery check-out and deny the pre-packaged goodies for Chef Gerstenecker’s Verona chocolate creations.

Some of the treats you can expect to enjoy include Chocolate Coffee Toffee Brownie, Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cake and Chocolate Mousse Parfait, not including the celebrity chocolate additions which will be added to the line up each week.

The Chocolate Buffet is available every Friday (February 19, 2010 to March 26, 2010) from 9pm until midnight, at Park 75 Lounge and Terrace, inside Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta. The buffet includes up to 15 ever-changing chocolate temptations for $20 per person.

The Room of Possibility

Kinjo Brothers Reinvent Their Flagship Restaurant to Incorporate After Hours Lounge

The Kinjo Brothers, owners of the acclaimed and five-star rated MF Buckhead, are at it again with the upcoming opening of MF Room.

MF Room, opening Thurs., Dec. 31, 2009, is located in the 1,500 square foot area at the rear of MF Buckhead’s main dining room. This space, once an overflow space for the main dining room, has been completely redesigned to become an upscale lounge and flexible private event venue.

With an atmosphere that is undeniably cool, MF Room will be the ‘must go’ spot for those looking for late night drinks and dining. Open Thursday through Saturday from 9pm until 2am the menu will feature Izakaya items (or small bites) of MF’s most popular specialty rolls created by Chef/Owner Chris Kinjo, with prices beginning at $6.

The design of the room evokes a feeling of gothic elegance, featuring a color scheme of black and grey, offset with white. The warmth of the room comes from the texture of the dark wood floors, the unique mirror and glass features and the original art pieces created by designer/owner Alex Kinjo.

MF Room has been a labor of love for Alex. He has worked for the last year putting together every detail of the room’s redesign, including the new layout and logo, to choosing the unique building materials and furniture that allows the room to be transformed into a variety of arrangements.

“I designed MF Room as a unique and innovative space that can be personalized for anything from a private dinner for 10 to a fashion show for hundreds.

The room’s flexibility comes from a few key features Kinjo focused on during the design process. The room is wired for audio/visual, logo projection, and many other state-of-the art enhancements.

MF Room: The newest concept from the Kinjo Brothers, MF Room seeks to provide Atlanta with the ultimate lounge experience. Combining a relaxed atmosphere with cocktails and signature small plates, MF Room evokes the feeling of an underground Japanese club.
